AXL ROSE and SLASH on Guns N' Roses
Guns N' Roses: Band Plays at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., for 1st Time in 24 Years

Axl Rose filled in with AC/DC earlier this year but is back for the "Not in This Lifetime" reunion tour, which started in April and includes Slash. Alice in Chains will also play the Kansas City show.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The sonic stylings of hard rock will ring through Arrowhead Wednesday night when Guns N' Roses takes the stage.

The popular band is playing Kansas City for the first time in 24 years.

You can expect a lot of screaming, both on the stage when Axel Rose sings and in the stands as fans cheer the band on.

With all the drama behind the scenes over the years involving this lead singer and his bandmates, no one thought they’d never see a Guns N' Roses reunion tour in their lifetime, which is why the tour is titled, "Not In This Lifetime."

A total of 36 semi-trucks brought in the stage and production equipment from Washington D.C., which is where the band performed Sunday night before busing it to Kansas City.

"Our first show was indoors, so we had a roof over the head of us so we couldn't do the fireworks display that we do for this show, which will look fantastic in this building," production manager Dale Skjerscth. "It always does. Everything evolves in the show, it just gets better and better, even the band playing. Everybody tightens up."

Over the past three days, more than 300 workers have put the stage together on the infield. They’ve added big screens and fireworks to the production, making it a different experience from when they last toured in the early 90’s.

Earlier this year, lead singer Axel Rose broke his foot and performed in a pre-tour concert in a wheelchair contraption. But his foot has since healed, and he’s bouncing around on stage as usual.

The early reviews have been positive. Axel, Slash and Duff, while older, can still rock it on stage, and they say Axel’s voice sounds stronger than ever.

The band broke up back in 1993 so fans who haven’t seen them play since will soon find out if the wait was worth it.

Victor Frankenstein

Movies   Recapping Past News Events The character of Frankenstein was born in Naples (according to the 1831 edition of the novel) and raised in Geneva. He was the son of Alphonse Frankenstein and Caroline Beaufort, who died of scarlet fever when Frankenstein was 17. He describes his ancestry thus: "I am by birth a Genevese; and my family is one of the most distinguished of that republic. My ancestors had been for many years counsellors and syndics; and my father had filled several public situations with honour and reputation." Frankenstein has two younger brothers—William, the youngest, and Ernest, the middle child. Frankenstein falls in love with Elizabeth Lavenza, who became his adoptive sister (his blood cousin in the 1818 edition) and, eventually, his fiancée. As a boy, Frankenstein is interested in the works of alchemists such as Cornelius Agrippa, Paracelsus, and Albertus Magnus, and he longs to discover the fabled elixir of life. He loses interest in bo...

Joc-O-Sot/Walking Bear (1810-1844) gravestone Joc-O-Sot was of the band Bear, tribe Osauckee of the Algonquin nation, according to the memorial marker, but was he a Sauk? Perhaps a Sauk is of the Osauckee. But was he the chief of the Meskwaki/Fox tribe? The Sauks and Meskwaki were closely allied and fought together in the Black Hawk War of 1831/1832, where Joc-O-Sot was wounded. After the war he came to Cleveland, working as a fishing and hunting guide. He later toured with a theatrical troupe run by Dan Marble, which supposedly showed Native American life. Traveling in England, he performed for Queen Victoria, who was impressed enough to commission a portrait of him. Joc-O-Sot became ill and returned to the United States, apparently wanting to return to his homeland (he was born in Iowa, but his people may have been buried in Wisconsin of Minnesota). He made it to Cleveland before he died, and was buried in the Erie Street Cemetery. It is reported that vandals da...
