HEIMLICH creator passed at 96

NEWS STORIES   RECAPPING NEWSTORIES   Henry Judah Heimlich   (February 3, 1920 – December 17, 2016) CINCINNATI (AP) –  The surgeon who created the life-saving Heimlich  maneuver for choking victims has died. Dr. Henry Heimlich died early Saturday at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. His  son, Phil, says he suffered a heart attack earlier in the week. Heimlich was director of surgery at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati in 1974  when he devised the treatment for choking victims that made his name a  household word.   Heimlich (right) demonstrates the maneuver on Johnny Carson  on the NBC television  Tonight Show  in 1979. Hungarian born actrees ZSA ZSA Gabor died at 99

NEWS STORIES   RECAPPING NEWSTORIES   Zsa Zsa Gabor   (born   Sári Gábor)  (February 6, 1917 – December 18, 2016) Zsa Zsa Gabor died Sunday after reportedly suffering a heart attack. She  had been bedridden since a car accident in 2002 that left the actress  partially paralyzed and forced to use a wheelchair. Gabor also suffered a  stroke in 2005. FORMER ASTRONAUT HAS DIED AT 95

NEWS STORIES   RECAPPING NEWSTORIES   John Herschel Glenn Jr.   (July 18, 1921 – December 8, 2016) COLUMBUS, Ohio (FOXNEWS) — John Glenn, arguably Ohio’s most accomplished   and decorated civilian, has died.  The former astronaut, Ohio Senator, and veteran, passed away at the Ohio State   James Cancer Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Glenn was admitted there more than a week before he died. The Cambridge native served in more than100 combat missions over the Pacific   as a Navy fighter pilot during his service in World War II and the Korean War. Glenn was then recruited to the newly formed NASA in 1958, where he became   the first American to orbit the Earth on February 20, 1962. HISTORY   RECAPPING NEWS STORIES National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day , also referred to as  Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day  or  Pearl Harbor Day , is observed annually in the United States on December 7, to remember and honor the 2,403 citizens of the United States who were killed in the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941. On August 23, 1994, the United States Congress designated December 7 of each year as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. On Pearl Harbor Day, the  American flag  should be flown at half-staff until sunset to honor those who died as a result of the attack on U.S. Military and naval forces in Hawaii. Pearl Harbor Day is not a federal holiday – government offices, schools, and businesses do not close.
