Moore was a member of a local country combo in Memphis when he was drafted by Sun owner Sam Phillips to support with the young, untested teenage singer on his debut recordings. His crisp, flowing, melodic guitar lines, heavily influenced by Chet Atkins’ early work but also infused with deep blues feeling, highlighted the singles issued by Sun during Presley’s rise to fame in 1954-55. Three crew members are still missing and one hospitalized after head-on train collision between new freight trains in Panhandle, Texas. The impact of the crash caused several box cars to derail and burst into flames, leading authorities to evacuate residents in the area. The two Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway freight trains were on the same track when they collided about 25 miles northeast of Amarillo. Each train carried two crew members; one man jumped before the collision, according to BNSF spokesman Joe Faust.
